It's "Where's the Party Wednesday" and we are talking Baby Showers!! We searched high and low for our favorite themes and decor, and found the cutest ideas ever, and then added a little LLLove ;)! Now we need more of our friends to start having babies, so that we can throw some adorable, pint sized parties!
Two of our favorite Baby Shower ideas were "Cute as a Button" and "Bow Ties", so we put them together. Either of these themes could stand on their own just fine, but aren't they a darling pair? The Bow Tie photos were from the fabulous Jesi Hack of Jesi Hack Designs baby shower by Joyful Weddings and Events! You could also do "Buttons and Bows," for a baby girl...the favors could be little bow hair clips with buttons in the middle...love.

The next shower theme on our list is "Elephants on Parade"...introducing the new "Little Peanut." We found the cutest girl and boy showers on Bump Smitten! Click here and here to see the full post. This could also be parlayed into a Circus ("Big Top Baby"), or jungle theme...just add more animals ;). You could also throw in an homage to the Disney film Dumbo, and use "Baby Mine" on the cake, or on a banner somewhere.

One of our fabulous readers told us she was throwing a Bee themed baby shower this summer, and asked for some suggestions...well, we were more then happy to help! This theme is sure to leave your guests buzzing! Check out how cute these decor ideas are we found on Bump Smitten, here and here! It can be "B is for Baby," "Mommy to Bee," "Cute as can Bee," or "Bee my Little Baby."...and on the dessert table "Sweet as Honey."

For Mom's who want a more studious theme, baby book showers are always a great idea! We are huge fans of decor that can double as a gift once the party is over. If you are going to spend money on decor, you might as well be able to make it useful once the party is over.
Use baby books for your center pieces, and advise guests to bring a baby book with them to the shower, then the new Mom gets her own supply of bedtime stories when the party is over...now that is the gift that keeps on giving.
For a girl we chose a fairytale theme with, "Once Upon A Time," but you could do an "Alice in Wonderland" theme as well. We found these amazing free downloads from Martha Stewart, which included Rifle Paper Co. invitations, bookmark favors, and DIY decor ideas. For a boy we found the cutest "Goodnight Moon" themed shower on Hostess with the Mostess, click here for free downloads and to see the full post. We also liked the theme "The Little Prince," for a baby boy.

Please let us know if you have any questions, or need ideas for your next party! We have even more ideas, especially for a twins shower! ;)

I LOVE the bee ideas you found/thought of! What a blessing to have you put something like that together - I am so so appreciative!! The honey body scrub is awesome! You girls are so good at what you do! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh and one more thing - I echo the value of "double duty decor". The whole reason we chose a bee theme was because the mom-to-be selected that palate for her nursery and so I wanted to give/make things for the shower that she can take home and add to the baby's room. The same idea was done for me at my bridal shower and I still smile when I see the items.
ReplyDeleteBookmarking this now! I need this since Im going to be an Auntie soon! Very cute ideas!!
ReplyDeleteHeather! Thank you so much for your comments! And of course, as you can probably tell, we love planning parties! ;) And I agree, I think you are a genius and so thoughtful and sweet to make the theme of the babies room the theme of the shower! You get a gold star for being an awesome friend! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Amanda D. for your comment! And congrats on being an Auntie soon! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ideas! Thank you for sharing. I'll definitely keep some of these ideas in mind to use in the future. Happy Day :) - Lauren (Kansas City, MO).
ReplyDeleteHappy Day indeed!! Thanks for the support! :) xo
DeleteHi J&J!
ReplyDeleteI am planning a baby shower for my first niece! I am trying to work in the theme of "A Bun In The Oven," because my brother and his wife "announced" their future baby girl by tricking us with a random hamburger bun in my parent's oven. The shower will be in June at the Newport Beach Tennis Club. The club's colors are mostly dark red which only gives me the option of incorporating the dark red and probably adding a cream accent color. Barbara (my SIL) is definitely a pink lover and Baby Audrey will be pretty in pink! (Pretty In Pink is actually the theme of her other baby shower).
Any thoughts will be very appreciated!

~ Janell
Hi Janell! I don't know if this link will work, but you have to check out Posh Paperie's Blog! They did the same theme "Bun in the Oven," and used red: http://posh-paperie.com/blog/?p=1151. They included a "Bundt Bar" with bundt cakes for dessert, and the favors were cinnamon bun's in to-go boxes. If you want to incorporate pink, maybe try an ombre color palette (fade from white, to pale pink, to pink ... all the way to deep red). Hope that helps, and congrats on being an Auntie soon! ;)

Omg!!! I absolutely LOVE the tutu theme shower...Where can I find the chandelier onies and tutu.....????
ReplyDeleteHi Carrie! Just hang ribbon or a string and hang up tutu's with clothes pins. You can either buy little girl tutu's (I saw some at target, and Michael's craft store), or make them. Here's a tutorial: http://www.theribbonretreat.com/blog/how-to-make-a-tutu.html
DeleteI think that's what you were asking. Otherwise, there are links below the pics). Hope that helps!

this is the second time today I have seen the "mommy to bee" collage pinned on pinterest! sooo cool!
ReplyDeleteThese ideas are cute! Do you have any suggestions for a combined boy/girl shower? (the babies will be cousins, not twins). Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! You could spin any of these for a boy and girl theme, for example, you could do "Buttons & Bows." "Buttons" for the boy baby, and "Bows" for the girl baby? Or you could do a book themed shower and call it "Beauty & the Beast," beauty for the girl and beast for the boy.
DeleteOther ideas:
"The Perfect Pair" (use pears in your decor)
"Two Peas in a Pod" or "Our Little Sweet Peas" and use green, which is gender neutral, for decor
"Look Who's About to Pop" - and use owls as the decor - gender neutral - and the favors can be little bags of kettle corn or popcorn.
Hope that helps!

You provides a wonderful ideas about baby shower and this really helps.Winnie the pooh baby shower
ReplyDeleteHaving 3 boys, I am partial to the baby boy shower themes and absolutely love the Book Theme for boys! Not only am I a huge fan of reading to children while they are young, (I actually started reading to my youngest son at 3 months old and still read to him for one hour every night now that he's eleven) but I absolutely love the book "Goodnight Moon". It was definitely a favorite when my son was around 2 or 3.
ReplyDeleteAnother great theme for baby showers which includes books would be "Guess How Much I Love You". A wonderful book and I would think quite fun and easy to incorate little bunnies into the shower decor.
Some great ideas here, I'm about to be a grandma again, so I need some ideas for a baby shower. Thanks for posting:)
ReplyDeleteOf course! Thank you for your sweet comment, and Congratulations on your future grandchild! :)
DeleteFor my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.
