DIY: Paint Dipped Stems

     Welcome to the very first "Make Something Monday" on Linen, Lace, & Love!  Today we are going to paint champagne flutes, and wine glasses, to give any table setting a fun colorful look.

How to "dip" your stems in 3 easy steps:

What you will need:
wine glasses or champagne flutes (we got ours from the 99 cent store, and Ikea.)
painters tape
spray paint in your desired color
A drop cloth

 Step 1: On a clean glass, use painters tape to make a straight line where you want the paint to stop.  *If your stem is curved, focus on keeping the bottom line of the tape straight and then fold in the rest to make it fit the top.  (It's the bottom line that will show anyway.)

Step 2: We found that spray paint was very easy to use, dried faster, and was less messy.  *The gold metallic only needed one coat, but the green needed about 6 thin coats of paint, so judge as you go, and remember to use even, light passes as you turn your glass.

Step 3: Peel off the tape and display!  If you had some paint go above the tape line, use a little paint thinner on a paper towel to wipe it off..works like a charm.

     This is such a fun trick to make any table more playful.  Your glasses will not be dishwasher safe, but you can hand wash them and use them again.
